A Georgia native with a love for precision and performance, Chef Travis Kirkley brings soulful Southern roots and refined technique to every plate. His culinary journey began in 2017 as a line cook at Colletta in Avalon, where his competitive spirit quickly propelled him into leadership roles at Oak Steakhouse and back to Colletta as Executive Chef.
After relocating to Charlotte, Travis continued to sharpen his craft—first leading the kitchen at Indaco, then Oak Steakhouse Charlotte, before stepping into his current role overseeing culinary operations across the city. His style blends thoughtful seasonality with fire-driven technique, always with the guest experience at the center.
At Mizu, that means clean, balanced flavors, precise execution, and an unwavering respect for the ingredients. Outside the kitchen, you’ll find Travis with his family, outdoors, or in his garage—tinkering with cars, where precision and creativity still take the wheel.
